What’s With MS Dhoni’s New Monk Look?

MS Dhoni

MS Dhoni is known for his makeovers, which have become a fashion statement. Dhoni has always been a trendsetter. Starting from his days as a long-haired youth in the Indian team to his clean-shaven appearances in the latter stages of his international career.
Star Sports, the official broadcasters of the Indian Premier League, released a new photo of MS Dhoni recently. It was an image with a shaved head and a Monk-like avatar on Saturday. Fans are curious about the new look after seeing the photo, which has gone viral.

Though speculation is rife that MS Dhoni’s new look will be featured in a commercial for the IPL 2021 season. However, fans of the former India captain seem to be adoring the new look. While some fans were perplexed as to what the picture was all about, others compared MS Dhoni’s cool and relaxed demeanour on the field to the new photograph. Moreover, the new season of IPL is set to begin on April 9.

Star Sports shared the photo with a disclaimer that read: “Set up in a martial arts training camp”.

On other hand, the speculations came to a very different conclusion. It started off another meme whale among his fans and people couldn’t keep but laugh!

Dhoni’s monk avatar, whether fake or actual, has won him another spot in the meme hall of fame. Dhoni’s picture, in which he appears to be dejected, has undoubtedly become a meme. Some referred to him as the “monk who sold his bat,” while others referred to him as “Dhoni MonK.”

A short video clip of Dhoni has also been released by Star Sports.

It is pretty much teasing viewers about the mantra behind the new avatar.

Arun Pandey, Dhoni’s mate, confidante, and business partner, spoke with AFWA.

“This is just a new Star Sports advertisement and nothing else,” Pandey said, dismissing the viral storey that Dhoni had converted to Buddhism.

As a result, the viral storey that Dhoni has converted to Buddhism is false. Star Sports, the IPL broadcaster, created the viral picture as part of a marketing campaign.

MS Dhoni arrived in Chennai earlier this month to lead a training camp for the Chennai Super Kings in preparation for the IPL 2021 season. Former BCCI president N Srinivasan told India Today at the India Today Conclave South on Friday that Dhoni practises indoors in the morning and then goes to the nets at Chepauk in the evening.

Meanwhile, Chennai Super Kings is one of the first teams to start planning for the IPL 2021. Moreover, captain MS Dhoni appears determined to turn the team’s fortunes around after a disappointing showing in the previous edition, when they finished sixth in the league.
