#1 Bhagwan Mahavir Wildlife Sanctuary
The Bhagwan Mahavir Wildlife Sanctuary, located in the foothills of the Western Ghats and covering an astonishing 240 square kilometres. A wide diversity of plants, birds, and animals can be found in this sanctuary. Hiking routes crisscross this vast expanse of land, which are popular with nature enthusiasts and hikers.
The sanctuary is home to the famed Dudhsagar waterfall, the Devil’s Canyon, the Tambdi Surla temple, the Tambdi falls, and a variety of other historic and religious landmarks, in addition to a huge amount of biodiversity.
#2 Savoi Plantation
Mr Shetye established Savoi Plantation, a 40-hectare natural farm in Goa. Since 1985, the immaculately maintained farm has been open to the general public. A variety of fruits, vegetables, and spices are farmed with great love and care.
Here, exploring is an excellent way to get close to nature and collect a tip or for one’s small garden. It’s one of the best ways to appreciate the grandeur of Goa’s pristine hinterlands, and it’s nearly 200 years old.
#3 Netravali Bubbling Lake
On the boundaries of the Netravali wildlife reserve is the Netravali Bubbling Lake/Pond, also known as Budbud Thali by the locals. Although it is named after a lake, it reminds me of a Temple Pond. The design is rectangular with a little pedestal in the centre. The water is clear with a greenish-blue hue. It got its name from the curious phenomenon of bubbles rising from the pond’s bottom.

#4 Arvalem Waterfall
With a height of 50 metres and a width of 7 metres, the Arvalem waterfall is a popular tourist attraction and picnic area in Goa, especially during the monsoon season, when the falls are a raging torrent rushing recklessly into the lake below.
Although it does not have the same majesty as the famed Dudhsagar falls, it is less arduous and easier to reach, making it an ideal destination for a fun excursion with family and friends.
#5 Dr Salim Bird Sanctuary
Salim Ali Bird Sanctuary, which covers an area of around 108 square kilometres and is home to exotic animals in an estuarine mangrove setting, is Goa’s only bird sanctuary. Teak, Red Sandalwood, Rosewood, Jungle Jack, and many more tropical evergreen and semi-evergreen trees make up this region’s unique vegetation, offering a haven for a variety of birds.
