Farhan Akhtar is back with his Bhag Milkha Bhag director Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra, to reunite for another sports-centric film. Toofan trailer was released on Wednesday and was received well by the audience. Farhan is a National Level Boxer, and Mrunal Thakur is playing his love interest. Paresh Rawa plays his coach and the cast looks promising. Toofaan cast has Farhan Akhtar in the lead role along with Mrunal Thakur, Paresh Rawal, Supriya Pathak Kapur, Hussain Dalal, Dr. Mohan Agashe, Darshan Kumaar, and Vijay Raaz.
Talking about the film, Rakyesh said that while people have been talking about how the film is yet another sports drama from him, he had no clue about this sport before beginning the prep for it. “I don’t know much about boxing. I haven’t followed the game. But while working on the film, I suddenly realized how this is a contact sport unlike cricket or even a sport like a marathon on which Bhaag Milkha Bhaag was based. You cannot fake it. The whole physicality and psychology world (that Farhan experienced while filming Toofan) is something one can write a book on,” he said. Toofan trailer shows the intensity of boxing too.
Farhan Akhtar’s Transformation
Farhan Akhtar had a major transformation for this film. He said, “Toofaan is a true labor of love. No matter how physically strong one is, stepping into the shoes of a boxer is a whole new ball game. It took 8 to 9 months of rigorous training for me to get into the skin character and it made me realize how physically, mentally, and emotionally demanding the sport actually is. I am thoroughly excited to see all our hard work on the screen and I am glad we are going to be able to take the movie to audiences across 240 countries and territories with Amazon Prime Video.” His transformation can be seen in the Toofan trailer.
Overview of Toofaan Trailer
Raw emotions of the characters can be felt by the audience. The cinematography, background score, and right choice of the cast make it even better. We can see how Farhan has transformed himself for the movie. Sneak Peeks of Mrunal and Paresh Rawal intensifies the trailer. It is as much about boxing as it is about supportive partners. The movie is premiering on July 16 on Amazon Prime Video.
