The Squid Game on Netflix caused a global crisis. Since then, fans have been eagerly anticipating the show’s Squid Game Season 2. The South Korean survival game thriller, created by Hwang Dong-hyuk, brought a balm to our restlessness in the second half of 2021. Fans won’t have to wait much longer for the Squid Game Season 2, since Netflix has announced that the show has been renewed for a second season. Desperate people compete in dangerous games for cash in this dystopian television.
Squid Game broke box office records when it was released in 2021. It became Netflix’s most-watched original series in the world. Season 2 was officially confirmed by Netflix in January. Squid Game Season 2 has now been formally announced by the streaming site, eight months after the first season’s launch. Netflix released a teaser on June 12 that featured an animation of the robotic doll that was prominent in the first season of the show. The caption read, “Red light GREENLIGHT (sic)!” and the doll’s one eye flashed the number two.

The show’s writer, director, and executive producer, Hwang Dong-hyuk, also sent a brief letter to commemorate the event. “Last year, the inaugural season of ‘Squid Game’ took 12 years to bring to life. ‘Squid Game,’ on the other hand, needed only 12 days to become the most popular Netflix series ever. A massive shout-out to fans all over the world from the writer, director, and producer of Squid Game. Thank you for taking the time to watch and enjoy our show. Gi-hun has now returned.

Fans, on the other hand, will have to wait. Squid Games isn’t expected to be released until late 2023, or even 2024. They’ll have to make do with this brief, spooky teaser until then!
At the 2022 Screen Actors Guild Awards, the Netflix original made history by becoming the first non-English language series to receive a nomination. Lee Jung-jae and Ho-yeon, both actors, took home the awards. Squid Game also got nomination for three Golden Globes, including best television drama.
