Renowned Singer KK and everyone’s playlist ruler from Kolkata, died on Tuesday night, only hours after singing at a concert. After performing, the 53-year-old apparently felt uneasy and was taken to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead. Krishnakumar Kunnath, or KK as he was called, had a two-decade career that included several remarkable singles. When he launched his debut album, Pal, in 1999, his soulful voice caught the nation’s imagination. Since then, KK has continued to rise through the ranks of Bollywood, with hits like Tadap Tadap and Aankhon Mein Teri.
Sanjay Leela Bhansali was moved to tears when he first heard KK’s voice in the song “Tadap Tadap” from his film Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam. Ismail Darbar, the song’s composer, informed indianexpress.com that Bhansali heard the song nine times in one sitting.
Do you recall the song “Pyaar Ke Pal”? It was a song that moved college and high school students to tears during their farewell, and it became a favourite of theirs. And, with his soulful voice, KK deserves credit for making it heartwarming.
Although it’s tough to distil such a wonderful career into a few songs, here are a few songs of Singer KK to help you relive the romantic voice of KK.
Zindagi Do Pal Ki
Tu Hi Meri Shabh Hai
Kya Mujhe Pyaar Hai
