Designer Sabyasachi Mukherjee and his fame is plummet yet again. His latest online jewellery campaign has gone viral — all for the wrong reasons — just a few weeks after his Mangalsutra ad sparked trolls’ ire for hurting ‘Hindu feelings.’
While Sabya is no stranger to controversy or nationalistic trolls, one has to wonder if controversy is a draw for his brands or if it’s just another unlucky coincidence that he’s the target of unconventional campaigns. Trolls attacked Sabya’s H&M brand cooperation earlier last year, accusing it of being excessively pricey and showing same-sex couples in some posts.
Moreover, he was then chastised for his advertisements of a ‘Mangalsutra’ exquisite jewellery collection. Moreover, that time he had to remove the campaign after it garnered widespread criticism for being anti-Hindu.
