Rocket Boys: A Realistic And Satisfying Tribute

Rocket Boys

When one thinks of a period drama, certain stereotypes spring to mind. But Rocket Boys isn’t one of them! A make-believe universe, individuals speaking in a bygone era’s dialect, a stage and location that screams ‘period,’ and, most crucially, certain behavioural traits that are meant to remind you that this is a story set in another era.

Director Abhay Pannu, however, defies all of these stereotypes with his ambitious online series Rocket Boys, which is also one of the most anticipated to arrive on OTT.

Sony LIV has a reputation for producing unique. Also, some engaging digital content, and with Emmay Entertainment and Siddharth Roy Kapur joining forces, the trend is only gonna continue.

Ishwak Singh and Jim Sarbh bring their legends to life. Moreover, with their superb depictions, they bring forth the different personalities and tensions that these two minds had.

With his career-best performance as Dr. Homi J Bhabha, Jim Sarbh is without a doubt the highlight. The sparks were obvious before, but now he has the opportunity to really immerse himself in a role and put his best foot forward. The actor has perfectly represented Bhabha’s scholarly nature, with a dash of maniacal energy thrown in for good measure. It enhances the role and makes it instantly memorable.

Ishwak Singh plays a contrasting, controlled yet resolute in his way character of Dr Vikram Sarabhai to perfection.

Overall, Rocket Boys is a well-crafted biography about outstanding Indian figures who are often overlooked. Rocket Boys is a must-see for anyone who wants to see India’s best scientific minds at work.

If you’re one into great director and Hotspur mixed with great storyline, this series is for you.
