Two Anand L. Rai movies in a calendar year? Yes, the pandemic has changed a lot, and everyone has been speeded up by the uncertainty. But is that always a good thing? Only time will tell when Raksha Bandhan, the newest film starring Bhumi Pednekar and Akshay Kumar, releases. The much-anticipated film’s trailer is officially here, and one thing is for sure: Rai’s cinematic energy is singular and impossible to replicate.
After a satisfyingly gorgeous fairytale (Atrangi Re! ), Aanand teams up with the power writing duo and longstanding confidants Himanshu Sharma and Kanika Dhillon to explore the demography of a family in a small town in India and the wedding craze. The movie Raksha Bandhan, in which Akshay Kumar plays the brother of four girls and serves as their parental figure, tells the story of the struggles he goes through to arrange their marriage. like he had promised their mother to do.

The 2 minutes 53-second-long trailer, on the other hand, walks you through the hardships and tensions of the characters. While everything appears to be amusing and has landing blows, much like Anand-Himamshu-previous Kanika’s partnership, Akshay Kumar is the uncertain. At this time, the actor doesn’t put much effort into developing a character because he is wrapping up projects every two weeks. His prior personas are mix and match in Raksha Bandhan, and it appears that Kumar from the past is returning.
The teaser doesn’t provide Bhumi Pednekar with a lot of screen time. There is, however, a side that appears to be reserve for the big screen. Keeping in mind the film Rai and Kanika produce and their affection for their female characters. Himesh Reshammiya composed the music, which has a retro feel to it.
Overall, there are sensations, emotions, colours. Moreover, a Seema Pahwa who can do no wrong, and the Aanand L Rai atmosphere that we all want for. However, there are also factors that might bring everything down, so our fingers are crossed.
