Shikhar Dhawan Wins It For Delhi Capitals

It was Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) vs. Delhi Capitals (DC) in Dubai where the SRH batsmen could not do much with some fantastic bowling spells from the DC bowlers. After Kane Williamson, the captain of SRH, chose to bat first, they scored 134 runs, losing nine wickets in their 20 overs. In reply, DC did not face any challenge from the SRH bowlers, chasing the target with 13 balls left. They won the match by 8 wickets, losing the wickets of openers Shikhar Dhawan and Prithvi Shaw.

DC Chased The Target Easily With Some Good Knocks From Shikhar Dhawan, Shreyas Iyer and Rishabh Pant

Shikhar Dhawan, who could not make it to the Indian players for the T20 World Cup, played a beautiful inning. He scored 42 runs, which involved six boundaries and one over the top. His partner Prithvi Shaw failed to impact the match, who could only make 11 runs.
Former captain Shreyas Iyer also played his part in chasing the total, scoring 47 runs off 41 deliveries. The current captain, Rishabh Pant, supported him, who played an attacking inning, hitting three boundaries and two sixes in his 35 runs from 21 balls.

Before, the SRH did not have the start they expected with David Warner getting out on a duck. The SRH batsmen could not face the steaming fast deliveries from the debutant Anrich Nortje. Additionally, the South-African fast-bowler bowled the most rapid eight deliveries in this IPL season. He ended his debut with two wickets giving away only 12 runs in his four overs. Moreover, the fast-bowler was awarded the ‘Player of The Match’ for his outstanding performance.

Abdul Samad was the highest scorer for the SRH with 28 runs from 21 deliveries. Besides, the other batsmen hardly made any significant contribution, with some fantastic bowling from the Delhi Capitals bowlers.

With this win, the Delhi Capitals are now at the top of the IPL table. The Chennai Super Kings are just second. However, with this loss, the Sunrisers Hyderabad are at the bottom of the table, with only one win in their eight matches.
