Prime Minister Narendra Modi will lay the foundation (Bhoomi Pujan) for the much-anticipated Noida International Airport (NIA). It will held on November 25, Thursday, after inaugurating the 340.82-kilometre Purvanchal Expressway.
Yogi Adityanath, the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, will attend the event. It is placed at the greenfield project site in Jewar, Gautam Buddh Nagar district. After the foundation-laying event, a major public demonstration will conduct in the wake of the impending UP Assembly elections 2022.
The NIA is being built near the town of Jewar in Gautam Buddh Nagar in the National Capital Region (NCR). It is about 72 kilometres from the existing IGI airport in New Delhi, 40 kilometres from Noida. Moreover, about 40 kilometres from the Dadri multimodal logistics hub.
The Noida International Airport’s first phase, will complete in about 36 months and will have a capacity of 12 million passengers per year.
The airport will increase in each phase to service 70 million passengers. Moreover, by the end of phase 4, depending on passenger growth and traffic. Aside from that, there are plans for an airport hotel, a VVIP terminal, an open-access fuel farm, airport rescue. Also, firefighting structure, and a large rain harvesting pond.

Uttar Pradesh has eight operating airports and is developing another 13 airports and seven airstrips. The BJP said in a statement that “with the groundbreaking and foundation laying ceremony of the Noida International Airport scheduled for November 25. Also, the state is now on its path to having five international airports — the highest for any state in India.”

The airport is near the Yamuna Expressway. It connects Greater Noida and Agra, the Eastern Peripheral Expressway. Moreover, the Delhi Expressway at Ballabgarh, as well as the Khurja-Jewar NH 91.
Moreover, it will also connect to the Dedicated Freight Corridor and the Noida-NIA Metro Extension. Also, the projected High-Speed Rail (Delhi-Varanasi) as well.
