Netflix India cuts price for all plans. Yes, the Netflix’s plans in India are altering, with drastically lower costs. Depending on the Netflix plan you subscribe to, you’ll save anywhere from 18 to 60% starting today.
The Netflix ‘Mobile’ plan, previously at Rs. 199 per month, has decreased 25 per cent to Rs. 149 per month. The biggest discounts are in store for the ‘Basic’ Netflix package — previously available at Rs. 499 per month, it will now cost just Rs. 199 per month in India.
The ‘Standard’ Netflix plan has been reduced from Rs. 649 per month to Rs. 499 per month as you move up the ladder. That’s a savings of 23%. The last remaining option is the Netflix ‘Premium’ plan, which ranges from Rs. 799 to Rs. 649 per month.

Essentially, each of India’s four Netflix plans has been reduced in price to the one below it, with ‘Mobile’ taking a new position at Rs. 149.

Starting today, if you already have a Netflix subscription, you will automatically get an upgrade to the higher plan.
Members will receive a reminder on their devices the next time they log in, asking them to Confirm Upgrade or choose an alternative plan if they so wish.
The change in pricing will take effect with the next payment cycle for individuals on Netflix’s top ‘Premium’ plan. This also applies to people who choose to stay on their current plan rather than paying the current fee.

Netflix’s high prices have been a major impediment to the service’s growth in India, especially as it competes with rivals like Disney+ Hotstar, Amazon Prime Video, Zee Entertainment’s ZEE5, and Sony Pictures Network’s SonyLIV.
This approach would allow Netflix to reach a new audience at a time when the company is more reliant on international markets for growth.
Moreover, in an October 2021 letter to shareholders, the company stated that the Asia Pacific region was the largest contributor to membership growth, accounting for half of all paid member additions in Q3 2021.
