neet exam 2021

The National Testing Agency (NTA) will conduct the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) TOMORROW. However, just before the exam, the #operationNEET is trending on Twitter, as there are rumours regarding the question paper leak.

Additionally, the concerned authorities, the NTA, have cleared that there is no such case and that the papers are not leaked. But it did not take long for the netizens to start questioning the government and the authorities.

What is #OperationNEET about?

It started trending on Twitter when a media channel said that it had performed a sting operation. According to this sting operation, a mafia is operating this cheating and leaking in Rajasthan. This sting operation also informed that there are people taking lakhs of rupees from the NEET aspirants and, in return, will provide them with seats in the different medical colleges.

While the charges for the reserved seats cost around 25-30 lakhs, the same for the general quota increases to 60-70 lakh. However, an investigation was conducted in November last year. Moreover, this investigation has yet not be shared with the public.

#OperationNEET: AISF and NSUI Keep The Hashtag Trending

The NTA Director, General Vineet Joshi, has shared that the rumours of the NEET papers are false, and there is no proof of any such happening.

However, various student unions and federations have come forward and are tweeting their opinions while supporting the hashtag OperationNEET. The All India Students Federation (AISF) and National Students Union Of India (NSUI) raise their concerns about holding the exam during such times. Moreover, they have also asked for an enquiry in the case. Many others have tagged Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan in their tweets and have asked him to look into the matter.

A large population of people wants the government to postpone the NEET exam due to covid cases in the country. However, the authorities have cleared that there will be no such postponement in the exam. Instead, the exam will take place at the different exam centres on 12th September.

More than 17 lakh students might appear for the NEET exam this year. The number speaks for itself, and thereby, we can understand how much the exam means to the students.
