Major Movie is a biographical drama based on the life of Major Sandeep Unnikrishnan, who died in the Mumbai terror attacks on November 26, 2001.
Sandeep’s vibrant life and determination as a soldier are strongly featured in the film. What is the background of Sandeep’s family? Which factors affected Sandeep’s decision to join the army as a child? What role did he play as an NSG Commando during the Mumbai terror attacks of 26/11? How will he deal with the terrorists and save the hostages held at the Taj Mahal hotel in Mumbai? You’ll have to see the movie in a theatre near you to find out.
Without a doubt, Adivi Sesh should have the most screen time in the film, given he only exists in the character of NSG Commando. Sandeep Unnikrishnan put forth his best effort. With his impressive screen presence, the actor adds genuine depth to the proceedings. Major benefits from his calm demeanour and steady performance throughout the film. Adivi Sesh maintains a superb body and is a perfect one for the NSG Commando role.

Sandeep’s parents are played by Prakash Raj and Revathi, and the senior artists simply lived in the characters. While young beauty Saiee Manjrekar is adorable on screen, her love story with Sandeep is an afterthought during the second half’s important events.
As a hostage, actress Shobita Dhulipala gave a convincing performance. Last but not least, as a high-ranking Army officer, Murali Sharma performed admirably.
Apart from acting, Adivi Sesh also wrote the film’s story and screenplay. Although the plot is on the life of Major Sandeep Unnikrishnan, the compelling script was by Adivi Sesh. On the screen, his paperwork from the important Taj Mahal hotel Commando operation is particularly obvious.
Director Sashi Kiran Tikka did an excellent job in his role, executing the film according to Adivi Sesh’s on-paper instructions. Vamsi Patchipulusu’s cinematography is excellent, as he showed the entire film on a bright note, especially the combat scenes in the second half, which he filmed with smokey frames and perfectly lifts the mood. Sricharan Pakala’s music is the film’s backbone, as his background score brilliantly enhances key scenes. In the first half, there are two duets between the lead pair that are decent on-screen.
Major, in general, is a sincere effort by the team that highlights Major Sandeep Unnikrishnan’s sacrifices as an Immortal hero. Moreover, Major is a simple one-time viewing thanks to Adivi Sesh’s performance and presentation.
