RR Wins A Thriller Against PBKS Defeating Them By 2 Runs

We saw a thrilling match between Rajasthan Royals vs. Punjab Kings. With Punjab Kings requiring 3 runs in 4 balls, Punjab Kings failed to reach the target, losing 2 wickets in the last over to young Kartik Tyagi. Nicholas Pooran and Deepak Hooda were the two batsmen who lost their wickets.
Punjab Kings captain KL Rahul and the entire staff would be utterly disappointed as the team lost a match that was in its hand until the last over.

Rajasthan Royals (RR) started their innings on a high note, with both the openers scoring more than 30 runs. Additionally, Yashasvi Jaiswal’s 49 was the highest score in the RR’s scorecard. Mahipal Lomror was the second-highest scorer for the team with 43 runs.

Arshdeep Singh Took A 5-Wicket Haul For The PBKS

The team was all out for 185 runs in their 20 overs. Besides, Arshdeep Singh, the left-medium fast bowler, was the most successful bowler for Punjab Kings (PBKS). He took a 5-wicket haul, giving 32 runs in his quota of 4 overs.
Other than him, Indian speedster Mohammed Shami also bowled one of the best bowling spells, taking 3 wickets for 21 runs in his 4 overs.

In reply, PBKS started slowly in their chase of 186 runs. However, openers KL Rahul and Mayank Agarwal made quick strides and scored 100 runs under 10 overs. Additionally, the Indian opener, Mayank Agarwal, scored a half-century, scoring 67 runs off 43 balls. Captain KL Rahul also played well, scoring 49 out of 33 deliveries involving four boundaries and two sixes.

While Chetan Sakariya got the better of KL Rahul, Mayank Agarwal had to go to the pavilion after getting caught from delivery by Rahul Tewatia. However, both the openers added 120 runs for the first wicket. KL Rahul also became the second quickest individual to score 3000 runs in 80 innings, only behind Chris Gayle’s 75.

Aiden Markram and Nicholas Pooran ensured that the team was moving ahead towards the target after both the openers were back into the pavilion. But with the double-wicket in the last over, the match slipped from their hands.
