It was matchday three of the UEFA Champions League fixtures of 2021-22. And the night saw brilliant games with some unexpected results. While Lionel Messi looked in the best form for PSG against the German club RB Leipzig, the night belonged to Ajax, who destroyed Borussia Dortmund by 4-0.
In the group A match, PSG defeated RB Leipzig by a close margin of 3-2. Lionel Messi was at his level best and scored two goals to win it for the French club. Kylian Mbappe’s early goal did not prove enough for PSG. They were left behind 2-1, thanks to the goals from Andre Silva and Nordi Mukiele.
Manchester City also won their match 5-0 by winning against Club Brugge.
Mohamed Salah’s late goal overshadowed Antoine Griezmann’s heroic performance for Atletico Madrid in the Group B game. Liverpool defeated Madrid to win 3-2 after a remarkable comeback by the team from Spain. However, after Griezamnn was shown a red card at the 52nd minute, the recovery was not enough to win the game.
In the other Group B match, FC Porto defeated Italian legendary club AC Milan, owing to the only goal of the game by Luis Diaz at the 65th minute.
Ajax, Real Madrid Win Against Their Opponents In The UEFA Champions League 2021
Group C saw one of the most brilliant plays by the Ajax players who destroyed Dortmund’s defense. The team from the Netherlands is at the top of the table in group C with this win and remains undefeatable in the tournament. Additionally, this was the first win for Ajax against a German club since 1973. Moreover, the coach, Eric ten Hag, was happy with the team’s performance. He said that everything today went up to their plans.
Additionally, it was a fantastic day on the field for Real Madrid as well. The Spanish team defeated Shakhtar Donetsk in the Group D game by a massive 5-0. Karim Benzema and Viniciuous Jr. played some great football to win the second match of the tournament.
In the other Group D match of the Champions League 2021-22, Inter Milan tasted victory against Sheriff, beating the team by 3-1. Additionally, this was the first victory for the Italian club this season of the UCL.
