France

It was the UEFA Nations League final in the San Miro stadium in Milan, where Spain was up against the 2018 FIFA World Cup champions, France . However, France had other plans. Similar to their previous game, France scored twice in the next 20 minutes to seal the deal. While their star player Karim Benzema scored the first goal at the 66th minute, the young Kylian Mbappe’s controversial goal finally won the game for France.

Controversy Sparked During The France vs. Spain Final Match

The Spain team looked confident that Mbappe was offside when he scored the goal. However, even after the VAR review, the goal was still standing, proving to be the winning goal. Sergio Busquets, the Spanish captain, also said that on the field, it looked offside. Moreover, he also added that the explanation given to them was not enough.

Additionally, Sky Sports expert also said that it was a bit harsh to Spain. Moreover, supporting Eric Garcia, he also added that the defender did what had to be done. Besides, he said no one could have asked any question even if the referee put his flag up.

It was a heartbreaking night for the Spanish side, who has been brilliant since Euro 2020.
