When good old Bollywood parties return to life, you realise that Mumbai has returned to normalcy and that the Pandemic days are behind you. Yes, we are talking about KJo’s 50th Bday!
The whole ‘who’s who’ of B-town gathered under one roof for the first time in almost two years, courtesy of Karan Johar, the ‘lord of bling,’ who celebrated his 50th birthday party yesterday night.
It appears that the theme was centred on bling, and based on the videos and photos of our favourite celebrities arriving, it’s easy to say that it was nothing short of a ‘desi’ Met Gala (in Farah Khan’s words).
A-listers Katrina Kaif and Vicky Kaushal, Aamir Khan and ex-wife Kiran Rao, Kajol, and Madhuri Dixit, among others, were all dressed to the nines. The entire B-town erupted in cheers as a slew of celebrities descended on the venue to commemorate the Dharma Productions CEO’s birthday.
Celebrities actually put their best foot forward on the red carpet. The celebration had a black and bling theme. The birthday kid wore a green tuxedo with a white shirt and black pants, which he paired with a white shirt and black pants. Apoorva Mehta, CEO of Dharma Productions, was also present.
Everyone in Bollywood who was anyone was there, and those who weren’t had good cause to be. Alia Bhatt, whom Karan Johar mentors and Deepika Padukone were among the notable absences. Alia is currently filming her Hollywood debut Heart Of Stone, while Deepika is on jury duty at the Cannes Film Festival.
Moreover, Shah Rukh Khan, Karan Johar’s close friend, was also absent from the red carpet. However, his wife Gauri was there at a smaller celebration held at KJo’s home the night before to celebrate his birthday.

At Karan Johar’s great giant Bollywood birthday party, nearly everyone else made a statement. Salman Khan, with whom the filmmaker is said to have had a tumultuous relationship in the past.
Vicky Kaushal and Katrina Kaif, who married in December, attended together. Additionally, after returning from Cannes, Aishwarya Rai and Abhishek Bachchan made a stunning couple’s entrance. Moreover, Abhishek and Karan Johar have been friends since they were children.
Her Kuch Kuch Hota Hai co-star Kajol was also seen at the reception, dressed in a glossy green gown.
In a black-capped shirt and glossy purple leggings, actor Madhuri Dixit was also spotted in a stunning avatar. She came alone as well as with her husband, Dr. Shriram Nene, and their son Arin.
Kareena Kapoor was accompanied by her husband Saif Ali Khan. However, Aamir Khan was accompanied by his ex-wife Kiran Rao, who is also a close friend of the birthday boy. Additionally, Malaika Arora, on the other hand, did not attend the celebration with her boyfriend Arjun Kapoor.

Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt’s husband, escorted his mother Neetu to the event. Hrithik Roshan was accompanied by his girlfriend Saba Azad, and his ex-wife Sussanne Khan was accompanied by her lover Arslan Goni. Moreover, Navya Naveli Nanda, Shweta’s daughter, arrived later and also posed with friend Ananya Panday.
Amrita Mahal, who designed the sets for films like ‘Kalank,’ ‘Brahmastra,’ ‘Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani,’ and ‘Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani,’ developed the party arrangement.
