Top 6 Flop Movies That Should Have Been A Hit Instead

Flop Movies

Bollywood has had a lot of movies that we all have loved. However, many such films could not perform well when it came to the box office collection. In this piece, we will look at some of the movies that the fans loved but ended up receiving the flop status to their names. Additionally, these movies did not deserve to flop. But, here are five movies that felt good to the audience, but not to the pockets.

Here Are Some Of Those Flop Movies

1. Nayak

One of the most famous movies, Nayak was loved by the audience and the Bollywood fans. However, starring Anil Kapoor and Rani Mukherjee, the movie did not perform enough to get into the hit movies list. Additionally, the movie also had stars like Amrish Puri and Paresh Rawal. Anil Kapoor, in the film, is a journalist who becomes the CM for a day, on getting challenged by Amrish Puri, the Chief Minister of the state. With a budget of Rs. 21 crores, the movie was able to earn only 18 crores.

2. Shahid

A movie that will be remembered for fantastic acting by Raj Kumar Rao, Shahid too was not able to earn much compared to its budget. Shahid was released in cinemas in 2013 and saw Raj Kumar Rao acting as a criminal lawyer. The movie has one of the best IMDb ratings. However, it was not as successful at the box office as the filmmakers and directors hoped. Additionally, the movie was declared as a “disastrous flop.”

3. Guzaarish

Starring stars like Hrithik Roshan and Aishwarya Rai, Guzaarish could not manage to become a hit. Hritik Roshan’s act as a magician was considered one of the most challenging roles for the actor. While both Hritik and Aishwarya’s acting received applause from the audience, the film was declared a flop. The audience didn’t appreciate the film due to the lack of Masala that’s typical for any Bollywood movie.

4. Swades

Swades may be the favourite film for a large number of people. However, not many of us would know that the movie was a flop at the box office. With the likes of Shah Rukh Khan in the film, it was loved by all. Additionally, the movie revolved around a scientist who has returned to his country, India and is now trying to connect himself with the public. Swades bombed at the box office because the new experiment around a Sharukhan movie failed to impress his fans and the Bollywood movie fraternity in general. Audiences and film critics at the time were not mature enough to be accepting of an educational movie.

5. The Legend Of Bhagat Singh

Released in 2002, the movie was about patriotism, the fight for independence, and the biography film of Bhagat Singh. Starring actors like Ajay Devgn, Sushant Singh, and many others, the movie could not become a hit as many people did not know about it during the release time.

6. Tumbbad

The movie, released in 2018, is a horror-thriller combined with a folk touch. While the film could not achieve a great response from the audience. it has received high ratings from different movie critics. It took almost six years to make the movie. However, it failed to earn a great collection since it was a highly artistic movie with a talented cast in terms of acting. Audiences were harsh on the movie since it did not come with the glitz and a glamorous star cast. Also, the Indian movie scene is brutal on artistic movies and Tumbbad paid the price for being a rare and authentic piece of art.
