The 74th Emmy Awards 2022 took place this year during New York Fashion Week, and the red carpet outfits felt like something front-row fashion editors would enjoy. 

There was the unique Louis Vuitton gown with the square-cut crop top that you don’t frequently see on the red carpet, as well as the custom Armani Privé Couture floor-length gown adorned in pink rhinestones. Additionally, there were dresses by Gucci, Jean Paul Gaultier, and Christopher Kane that included eye-catching accents like diamond-shaped belly buttons, gold snake chains, and cone bras.

1. Zendaya 

Zendaya, whose hair was styled by Law Roach, wore a black peplum Valentino gown with Bulgari diamond accents. Old Hollywood glamour was the theme of the dress, but in classic 2022 style. Her Instagram photo of it garnered 1.3 million likes in less than an hour.

2. Jasmin Savoy Brown

Look 31—a cutaway dress with a gathered skirt hanging on gold snake chains—belongs to Christopher Kane’s fall 2022 collection, and the actress from Yellowjackets wore it.

3. Laverne Cox

Laverne Cox wore a dress from Olivier Rousteing’s fall 2022 couture collection. Also, for Jean Paul Gaultier for her red carpet hosting gig. Cox’s dress had a cone bra that unmistakably felt like a nod to Madonna’s iconic JPG ensemble from the opening night of the 1990 Blond Ambition World Tour. Rousteing’s most recent show was intended to be a love letter to Jean Paul.

4. Julia Garner

The Ozark actress wore a velvet Gucci dress embroidered with florals, leather platform pumps. Moreover, Swarovski Ortyx hoop earrings to receive her Emmy for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series. The diamond-shaped cutout that showed her belly button, however, was the most appealing feature.

5. Lizzo

Lizzo’s television programme Watch Out for the Big Grrrls won the Emmy for Outstanding Competition Program. The singer has recently developed a red carpet signature for dresses with billowing sleeves and lengthy trains. Moreover, she wore a similar design by Jean Paul Gaultier to the VMAs last month.
