Eid Al-Fitr 2022: 5 Recipes To Try At Home!

Eid Al-Fitr 2022

Eid Al-Fitr is one of the most important Muslim celebrations observed around the world. It marks the completion of Ramadan, the holy month during which observant Muslims reflect on their lives and fast from sunrise to sunset.

The three-day celebrations, also known as the ‘Festival of Sweets’ or ‘Sweet Eid,’ are marked by the first glimpse of the new crescent moon.

The festival begins with a special prayer and the payment of Zakat al-Fitrah (a compulsory form of charity), followed by friends and families gathering to celebrate, exchange gifts and cash envelopes, and, of course, eat a lot of wonderful food.

From decadently drool-worthy desserts to robust curries dripping with flavours.

Check out some of the yummiest signature Eid Al-Fitr delicacies from throughout the world:

1. Shahi Tukda

This magnificent sweet delicacy, also known as Double ka Meetha or Indian bread pudding, is created of bread slices, condensed milk, sugar, ghee or clarified butter, saffron, and cardamom. In India and Pakistan, it’s a popular Eid treat.

There are various hypotheses about how Shahi Tukda came to be. Babur, the founder of the Mughal empire in India, is thought to have introduced it to Southeast Asia in the 16th century.

2. Sheer Khurma

This fragrant pudding is made with broken semolina vermicelli and is a staple of Southeast Asian Eid dishes. This exquisite delicacy, flavoured with rose water, the goodness of makhana, almonds, coconut, cashew, raisins cooked with milk, khoya, sugar, and fragrant spices like saffron and cardamom, is traditionally given soon after Eid prayer in the morning.

3. Mutton Shami Kebab

Is it possible to envisage a meal without some scrumptious kebabs? We are unable to do so. This is why our Eid is incomplete without the delicious and luscious mutton shami kebab! It’s hot, soft, and melts in your mouth in a flash.

Rose sharbat, a popular drink drank during Eid, is aromatic, refreshing, and aids in the preparation of a flavorful start to the feast. You may always buy rose syrup and make the cooler yourself, but we also recommend preparing it from scratch.

The rose sharbat made at home is absolutely excellent. Additionally, Sugar syrup, rose petals and flavours, rose fragrance, and milk is all you need.

5. Biryani

Biryani is another must-have meal that screams extravagance. Everyone enjoys biryani, which consists of aromatic rice blended with spices and succulent meat chunks. Moreover, the differences in the dish are what we like the most; every location in India has its own biryani recipes to offer.
