Cristiano Ronaldo’s Late Goal Wins It For Manchester United

The Champions League matchday 2 saw yet another fantastic night of football. After some shocking results the day before, football fans are sure to remember the Champions League 2021 as one of the most astonishing seasons. With Cristiano Ronaldo scoring in the last minute to make Manchester United win against Villarreal in Group F, to Barcelona facing yet another loss this season by 3-0, the night had it all.

Manchester United looked to draw yet another match before the home-coming king Ronaldo scored in extra time to record a win for the reds by 2-1. Before, Alex Telles levelled the score for the United in the 60th minute in response to Paco Alcacer’s goal in the 53rd minute of the game.

It was an excellent result for the Italian club Juventus who defeated the Champions League 2021 champions, Chelsea, in the Group H fixture. The Italian Euro Cup star Federico Chiesa was the lone scorer of the game. With this win, Juventus are now the leaders at the UCL table in Group H.
In yet another Group H match, Zenit easily defeated Malmo by 4-0.

Additionally, Group E saw some of the most disappointing results on the game night, with Barcelona losing yet another match. Barcelona is struggling to win in the Champions League, losing to Benfica by 0-3. Besides, they also lost to the German heavyweights Bayern Munich in their opener match. The Spanish side did not look to score in both the games, failing to put any ball on the target.

Bayern continue to show their dominance in their second match of the campaign against Dynamo Kyiv. With their star player, Robert Lewandowski scoring twice, along with many others, they defeated Dynamo Kyiv by 5-0.

In Group F, Atalanta was able to get through the defence of Young Boys to win the match by 1-0. With this win, they are now at the top of the table in Group F.

In Group G, Wolfsburg played a draw against Sevilla by 1-1. Ivan Rakitik was the saviour for Sevilla, scoring a late penalty at the 87th minute. Besides, in the other Group G match, RB Salzburg beat Lille by 2-1 and are now the table toppers.
