On Monday, during the CoWIN Global Conclave, India will unveil its very own CoWIN platform to the rest of the world. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will speak about the CoWIN platform during the conference at 3 PM. India is offering this as a digital public asset to other countries so they can undertake their COVID-19 inoculation efforts (IST). The virtual colloquium will be inaugurated by Union Health Minister Harsh Vardhan. Foreign Secretary H V Shringla, Union Health Secretary Rajesh Bhushan, and Sharma are among those set to speak at the occasion.
Around 50 countries have expressed interest in implementing CoWIN so far, including Canada, Mexico, Nigeria, Panama, and Uganda. Other countries, including Vietnam, Iraq, the Dominican Republic, and the United Arab Emirates, have expressed interest in learning more about the Co-WIN platform in order to instal it in their own countries and conduct their Covid programmes, according to sources.
50 Countries have already shown interest in the platform.
Dr R S Sharma, the CEO of the National Health Authority (NHA), has stated that the CoWIN platform is in high demand in other nations. Moreover, India is willing to provide the open-source software for free. According to Sharma, the prime minister has asked officials to produce an open-source version of the platform. This will be given to any country that requests it for free.
The Union ministries of health, external affairs, and the NHA collaborated on the virtual CoWIN Global Conclave. Experts in health and technology from all over the world will be in attendance. The conclave aims to share India’s experience. Mainly, with regards to universal vaccination to fight COVID-19 through Co-WIN. Informed by the NHA in a statement posted on its website.
