Winter is here, and this year it is making up for the previous several years. While most people plan to spend their vacations and week offs wrapped up in a blanket sipping hot chocolate, some, like me, enjoy seeing new places and taking advantage of the cooler weather (while sipping hot chocolate, of course).
There are numerous destinations to visit near Delhi during the winter that will make you want to get out of your warm beds and experience the season at its finest.
Here are the best places to visit in winter!
#1 Hastinapur
Hastinapur is around 130 kilometres from Delhi. The place is popular for its ancient, beautiful, and intricate sculptures and architecture, as well as its fascinating history. Winter is the best time to visit this town.
Hastinapur is well put in the Mahabharata as the capital city of the Pandava dynasty. It is noted for its huge natural sanctuary, which is home to a diversity of flora and fauna, in addition to its several gorgeous and old temples.

#2 Rishikesh
This little hamlet in Uttarakhand is situated where the Ganges River pours down from the Himalayas, making it one of India’s holiest sites.
White-water rafting, rappelling, rock climbing, and kayaking are just a few of the many activities available in Rishikesh, which include Triveni Ghat, Bharat Mandir, and Trimbakeshwar Temple. Rishikesh is a favourite weekend destination for New Delhi residents.
Moreover, from October to December, it is one of the best places to visit in winter.

#3 Lansdowne
Lansdowne is a gorgeous destination with a fascinating landscape and is one of Uttarakhand’s quietest and well-maintained hill stations.
Lansdowne is about a five-hour drive from the capital city and is about 250 kilometres away. The area is full of ancient Colonial Bungalows, spectacular sunrise and sunset spots, and rare vistas of the Himalayas and the Ganga River. Trekking, seeing St. Mary’s Church, and the ancient War Memorial are all options.

#4 Jaipur
Jaipur, the pink city of Rajasthan, is a five-hour trip from Delhi. Jaipur is a history buff’s paradise, with gorgeous forts, lovely palaces, and old temples. Even the streets of Jaipur are flowing with the city’s history.
The Amber Fort, Hawa Mahal, and Jantar Mantar are just a handful of the attractions in Jaipur. Additionally, for a wonderful experience in this timeless city, we recommend spending two to three days here during the winter season.

#5 Auli
This lovely hill station is 262 kilometres from Delhi, or about a seven- or eight-hour drive. Adventure skiers and general sports fans will love this location.
Skiing, Gondola trips, hiking through Oak forests, and watching the sunrise from the slopes are all options. Moreover, it is one of the best spots to visit in the winter around Delhi, especially for skiers.
