United Moves To Last 16; Barcelona Will Have To Wait

It was a tough day for Barcelona as the 2015 Champions League winners will have to wait for the final day to see if they will go ahead in the tournament. After a draw against Benfica, the team is now in second place. However, the team will only move forward if they win against the heavyweights Bayern Munich at Munich.

Additionally, the Spanish team can progress in the last 16 if Dynamo Kyiv defeats Benfica or stops the team to a draw. Barcelona would also consider itself lucky as Benfica’s striker missed an open goal opportunity in the 94th minute of the game.
Additionally, in the extra time, both teams scored goals but were disallowed. The game had everything, the thrill, fast-paced and great openings. However, Barcelona is now on the verge of exit in the Champions League 2021-22 if the team fails to win or draw against Bayern and Benfica defeats Kyiv.

On the other hand, Bayern Munich is now the group leader, defeating Kyiv by 2-1. Cristiano Ronaldo and Sancho’s goals ensured that Manchester United progressed to the last 16 by defeating Villarreal . Additionally, the English team is now the table-toppers in Group F.

It was a good day for Chelsea as well, as the team smashed Juventus 4-0 in the Group H fixture. The English team is the group leader with four victories. On the other hand, Zenit and Malmo played a draw. In Group G, Lille leads the group with two wins. Behind Lille is RB Salzburg. While the Spanish side Sevilla is third, followed by Wolfsburg at the 4th place.

In the coming matches, PSG will play against the English giants, Manchester City. Lionel Messi would be the crucial player to look out for as he ensured in their last clash that PSG won comfortably. Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid will also be the teams to look out for in the Champions League fixture. Additionally, Liverpool would also like to win and announce their form in the tournament. Champions League 2021-22 promises some crucial games in the coming time, and fans can only wait and watch.
