Indians have a soft corner for cricket. For many of us, Cricketers are role models. We grew up seeing them play and so many grew up wanting to be like them. Using sticks as wickets, roads as grounds, we learned this game. And now to see India win at Lords after 7 years makes us feel proud. From claiming victory in Gabba to Winning at Lords, the Indian Cricket Team has proved their worth. Here are 5 mind-blowing moments of India’s victory at Lords.
1. Topping Up With 100
This was a glorious moment when K L Rahul managed to hit a century at Lords as an opener. The last time an Indian did this was Ravi Shastri almost 31 years ago. So officially, K L Rahul is the first Indian Opener of this generation to be featured on Lord’s Stadium’s Honours board.
2. Stopping the Inevitable
On Day 4, the situation was pretty tight for India and It seemed like India was dependant on Pant. But he got out early on Day 5 and England’s win was inevitable. And then Shami and Bumrah made a winning partnership of 89, leading to only two results, Either Victory for India or a draw. They did really well even with all that heat between Bumrah and English Players.
3. Reviews Which Turned Right
Virat Kohli has faced numerous comments about him not being able to take DRS reviews successfully. But the tables were turned during the 2nd test at Lords. First, it was for Bairstow and then for Robinson. Both were right calls and these were the wickets that helped India claim its victory.
4. The Last Wicket
Siraj’s last wicket can be called incredible. It was the perfect delivery for a fast bowler “pitching outside off, swinging in, hitting top of off”. This wicket claimed India its victory at Lords after almost 7 years.
5. Pace Bowlers Swept it all
India managed to nail the bowling along with its Pace bowlers. Siraj came out as a star with 8 wickets. Meanwhile, Ishant got 5 wickets. Bumrah and Shami took 3 wickets each to help India come out victorious. Hoping for more victories in coming matches. We all feel immensely proud of India’s Victory In Lords.
